Prototyping Advanced Cell Culture System

Culture of 3D samples in microgravity conditions

At Bio-Orbit you can leverage an RPM to investigate the effects of microgravity on standard 2D cultures but also on spheroids and organoids. We can also customize microgravity simulators to your needs, for the culture under microgravity of more complex systems including organ-on-a-chip.

Biofabrication of 3D tissues

Want to produce a 3D complex tissue but don’t know how to do it? At Bio-Orbit we can fabricate 3D cell cultures, exploiting biofabrication, 3D printing, volumetric and light-based bioprinting, thus providing a wide spectrum of possibilities suiting your experimental needs.

Our Expertise

Thanks to the interdisciplinary background of our team, you can generate human tissue substitutes and 3D in-vitro models for your biological experiments. Furthermore, you can be assisted in the planning of complex experimental workflows, from cell isolation to construct fabrication, culture and analysis using protocols compatible with space requirements.

01. Cell isolation

We have extensive knowhow in primary human cell isolation and culture for different types of cells (e.g. mesenchymal cells from different tissues, endothelial cells, bone cells…) .

02. Biofabrication

We can provide expertise on 3D tissue biofabrication and, in particular, on tissue bioprinting through light-based technologies such as Direct Light Printing.

03. 3D cell culture

Our extensive knowhow on 3D cell culture using multiscale devices spans from macroscale bioreactors for culture under perfusion and/or mechanical stimulation of mm-scale constructs to actuated organ on a chip to electrically stimulated meso-scale platforms.

04. 3D cell construct analysis

We have implemented analytical workflows for 3D cell culture analysis, ranging from fluorescence and confocal imaging, including high content automated imaging systems, to gene expression and protein content analyses.
